An 80-year-old retiree who assaulted a young woman in Villa del Parque during an argument over a supposedly improperly parked car must present himself to the Buenos Aires justice system or be declared a fugitive. Additionally, the victim was provided with a panic button.
Sources in the case confirmed to the Argentine News Agency that the Prosecutor's Office of the West Flagrancy Unit ordered that the accused, charged with injury and threats, appear at the 27th Prosecutor's Office within 72 hours, under penalty of being declared in default. It also ordered that the complainant provide testimony at the Gender Violence Office and be granted a panic button.
The incident occurred in the last few hours when personnel from the City Police's 11A Neighborhood Police Station went to Terrada street at 2600 in Villa del Parque, where a woman reported that her neighbor hit her car and then hit her.
The 23-year-old young woman stated that she parked her Volkswagen Golf a few meters from the front of her house and a short while later heard noises coming from outside. She recounted that she saw her neighbor kicking her vehicle and hitting it with a bag, so she went out and filmed what was happening, at which point the man hit her in the face, causing a superficial injury to her chin.
The man was detained, and during the detention, the suspect's wife “stated that her husband suffered from coronary problems and that he would be assisted by his primary care physician at a private clinic.” In this way, it was arranged for a police escort to take the accused to that clinic.
